ABOUT ME
CRAIG HOUNAM
NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer
Craig is an accomplished NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist based in Burlington, Vermont. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Vermont, bringing both academic expertise and practical experience to his work in the fitness industry.
As a former USCAA basketball player at Great Bay CC in Portsmouth, NH, Craig’s athletic background fueled his early passion for fitness and performance. After transferring to UVM in 2020, he honed his skills by shadowing a biomechanics professor, gaining advanced insights into the transformative power of movement and solidifying his commitment to a career in fitness.
In 2023, Craig expanded his expertise through an apprenticeship with Joey Besl, founder of Premier Strength & Performance, where he specialized in strength and conditioning, working with a diverse range of clients. Today, he is a full-time trainer at Premier at its state-of-the-art 3,600-square-foot facility in Shelburne, Vermont.
Craig is dedicated to helping clients of all ages achieve their fitness and performance goals through personalized, science-based training programs. His passion for optimizing movement and fostering long-term health makes him a trusted professional in the field of strength and conditioning.

The In-person Difference
Our in-person sessions allow our trainers to get a better idea of your individual needs in terms of exercise selection. With that you're going to receive hands on corrections and maximal adaptability to your everyday needs. We host most of our in-person sessions at Premier Strength and Performance, where you'll have access to one of the best facilities in the state.

Remote Programs
Lifelong Fitness offers an array of remote programs that clients are able to purchase and complete in their own gym. Our programs include weekly video chats with our trainers to monitor progress and make any adaptations if need be.

PHILOSOPHY
Why I Started Lifelong Fitness
I founded Lifelong Fitness as a means to help people improve their lives through fitness and exercise. My mission is to use my expertise in biomechanics and anatomy to optimize movement, address aches and pains, and support long-term health and performance.
With a strong educational background in injury prevention and rehabilitation, I prioritize proper fundamentals and form. This foundation not only ensures safety but also creates the building blocks for lasting growth and progress.
Like everyone, I've dealt with my fair share of injuries as well, giving me plenty of experience with the road to recovery.
Education is also a key focus of mine. I aim to empower my clients with the knowledge and confidence to continue their fitness journey independently. Movement is essential for maintaining quality of life at any age, and I’m dedicated to helping people stay active and healthy for years to come.
